Original job description
We are looking for a dependable Facilities Assistant to support day-to-day operations at a residential community in Florida. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing resident support, property coordination, and hands-on facility oversight in a multifamily environment. The position begins on a part-time schedule of three days per week, including Tuesdays, and may expand into a permanent schedule based on business needs. Success in this role requires strong organization, sound judgment, and the ability to coordinate smoothly with residents, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Manage routine property administration by assisting with rent collection, deposit tracking, and lease extension paperwork.
- Guide prospective residents through available units and provide clear, detailed communication about the community.
- Coordinate resident transitions by supporting move-in preparations, move-out activities, and annual renewal processes.
- Create, monitor, and follow through on maintenance requests to help ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Perform regular walkthroughs of apartments and common areas to identify operational, safety, or maintenance concerns.
- Support basic preventative maintenance activities such as checking air filters and confirming smoke detectors are functioning properly.
- Maintain consistent communication with residents and service providers to keep daily operations organized and responsive.
- Assist with planning and coordination efforts tied to upcoming property improvement or rehabilitation work.
- Contribute to general facilities and operational support needs as they arise across the community.
- Previous experience in apartment communities, residential property operations, facilities support, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Ability to coordinate maintenance activity, inspections, and resident service tasks with attention to detail.
- Comfort handling basic calculations related to rents, deposits, and other property-related records.
- Strong organizational skills and reliability in managing multiple priorities within a part-time schedule.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with residents, vendors, and team members.
- Familiarity with property or facilities systems such as CMMS tools is beneficial.
- Experience with platforms such as Yardi or timekeeping systems like Kronos is a plus.
- Ability to meet pre-employment screening requirements, including background and credit checks.
