Position Overview Robert Half is seeking an experienced 1099 & AP Specialist for a North OKC oil & gas client. This position will be responsible for managing the company's 1099 reporting process, vendor maintenance, and accounts payable functions while ensuring compliance and accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 1099 preparation and reporting within the oil & gas industry, with midstream experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the annual and ongoing 1099 reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely filing.
• Review and maintain vendor records, including W-9 documentation and tax classifications.
• Process and reconcile accounts payable transactions.
• Research and resolve vendor payment discrepancies and tax-related inquiries.
• Assist with vendor setup and maintenance in accounting systems.
• Prepare account reconciliations and support month-end close activities.
• Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and company policies related to vendor reporting.
• Maintain organized records and documentation for audit purposes.
• Partner with accounting and operations teams to resolve reporting and payment issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable, Accounting, or Financial Reporting experience.
• Extensive experience handling 1099 reporting and compliance.
• Oil & Gas industry experience required; Midstream experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Division Orders is a plus.
• Strong understanding of vendor maintenance, W-9s, and AP processes.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
