An established organization is seeking a strategic accounting leader to oversee financial reporting, operational accounting, and financial planning activities across multiple business functions. Responsibilities:
- Direct the preparation and review of financial statements for assigned entities and business segments, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Lead the month-end close cycle, including oversight of journal entries, account reconciliations, and resolution of variances.
- Produce financial and operational analysis for senior leaders, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities affecting business results.
- Evaluate budget performance, standard costs, and actual results to explain variances and support corrective action.
- Develop ad hoc reporting and detailed analysis that informs strategic planning and day-to-day business decisions.
- Maintain strong accounting controls and monitor compliance with established policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
- Coordinate audit support activities by organizing documentation, responding to auditor requests, and helping ensure a smooth review process.
- Partner with business leaders on annual budgeting and periodic forecasting to align financial plans with operational goals.
- Work collaboratively with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and shared finance teams to address accounting needs across the division.
- Lead accounting staff by setting expectations, providing coaching, and supporting development, while contributing to system implementations, upgrades, and related finance projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
- CPA, CMA, or comparable professional designation preferred
- 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing accounting teams
- Strong financial reporting, close management, and compliance expertise
- Experience supporting complex organizations, multiple business units, or multi-entity environments
- Advanced understanding of internal controls, reconciliations, and financial processes
- ERP system proficiency and strong Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational abilities
