Dispatcher

We are looking for a Dispatcher to support daily delivery coordination in Madison, Wisconsin. This Contract position plays a key role in keeping warehouse and last-mile operations running smoothly by organizing driver assignments, tracking shipment activity, and addressing delivery exceptions in real time. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced setting, and confident managing multiple operational priorities throughout the day.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily outbound operations by preparing package loads, organizing shipments, and creating efficient driver assignments for the day.
• Process packages accurately through scanning, labeling, and sorting activities to maintain shipment visibility and readiness for dispatch.
• Oversee active delivery routes and make adjustments as needed to improve timeliness, coverage, and overall route performance.
• Maintain location-based delivery settings and verify geofence information to support accurate shipment tracking and completion records.
• Investigate and resolve package-related concerns quickly, including delivery failures, missing items, and shipments requiring age-verification follow-up.
• Track package movement and status updates throughout the delivery cycle to ensure issues are identified and addressed promptly.
• Schedule independent contract drivers and align staffing levels with daily volume demands to maintain reliable service coverage.
• Monitor live communication channels and respond to operational messages to support drivers and warehouse activity in real time.
• Review proof-of-delivery images and related documentation to confirm completion standards and identify discrepancies.
• Experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch systems or similar tracking and routing tools.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once in a fast-moving operational environment.
• Strong attention to detail when handling package status updates, driver schedules, and delivery documentation.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to delivery exceptions and service issues.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems, messaging platforms, and operational software.
• Ability to coordinate driver coverage and support efficient day-to-day logistics execution.
