Dispatcher

We are looking for a dependable Dispatcher to support daily delivery operations in Madison, Wisconsin. This Contract position plays a key role in coordinating driver activity, organizing package flow, and helping ensure shipments move out accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is highly organized, responsive under pressure, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced warehouse and logistics environment.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily outbound operations by preparing morning load-outs, organizing parcels, and mapping efficient driver assignments.
• Scan, tag, and sort incoming and outgoing packages to maintain accurate shipment handling throughout the facility.
• Oversee active delivery routes and make adjustments as needed to improve timing, efficiency, and service performance.
• Verify geofence setup and delivery location accuracy to support reliable route execution and reporting.
• Investigate and resolve shipment issues quickly, including failed drop-offs, missing parcels, and age-verification exceptions.
• Track package progress in real time and maintain clear status updates across all stages of delivery.
• Arrange schedules for independent contractor drivers and confirm adequate coverage to meet daily volume demands.
• Monitor live messaging channels to respond to operational questions and support field communication.
• Review proof-of-delivery photos and related records to confirm completion standards are met.
• Experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to respond professionally in time-sensitive situations.
• Familiarity with dispatch systems, shipment tracking tools, or computer-aided dispatch platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in a fast-moving environment.
• Working knowledge of route coordination, driver scheduling, and last-mile delivery processes.
• Comfortable using warehouse or operational software for scanning, status updates, and issue tracking.
• Strong problem-solving skills with close attention to detail and follow-through.
