Original job description

We are looking for a Desktop Support Analyst. This position supports both office and plant users by resolving technical issues, maintaining end-user devices, and helping keep daily operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate brings hands-on desktop support experience, a strong service mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance for employees in corporate and manufacturing settings, addressing hardware, software, and device-related issues with minimal oversight.
  • Manage incoming incidents and service requests through the ticketing platform, ensuring accurate documentation, timely follow-up, and clear resolution updates.
  • Analyze repeated support problems, determine underlying causes, and recommend durable corrective actions to reduce future disruptions.
  • Set up, configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, and other endpoint equipment used across the business.
  • Deliver attentive support to users by communicating clearly, setting expectations, and resolving issues with a customer-focused approach.
  • Perform routine IT upkeep activities while adhering to established standards, security practices, and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to planning and tracking support-related expenses and assist with budget-oriented administrative tasks as needed.
  • Travel domestically on a limited basis, up to 10%, to provide technical support when business needs require onsite assistance.
  • At least 2 years of experience in desktop support, help desk, or a similar IT support role; experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Associate degree in a technical field, relevant IT certifications, or comparable hands-on experience.
  • Working knowledge of PC hardware, Microsoft Windows operating systems, and general desktop troubleshooting practices.
  • Experience using Active Directory, Office 365, Windows 10, and service desk or ticket management tools.
  • Familiarity with plant-floor technologies such as label printers, handheld devices, scanners, or vehicle-mounted computers is a plus.
  • Understanding of core IT infrastructure concepts, including networking, servers, databases, and enterprise applications.
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills with the ability to manage priorities independently and collaborate across teams.
