This position is centered on preparing, deploying, and supporting Windows-based laptops and desktops while helping employees transition to new equipment with minimal disruption. The ideal candidate is practical, user-focused, and confident resolving common technical issues in the field while following established procedures and site safety expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Windows laptops and desktop systems for deployment by imaging, configuring settings, and validating device readiness before distribution.
- Deliver new hardware to end users, replace existing equipment, and guide employees through initial setup activities to ensure a smooth transition.
- Provide hands-on support for Microsoft 365 tools, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and related productivity applications during device rollout.
- Install required business software and resolve issues involving application setup, device imaging, and workstation configuration.
- Rebuild and ready returned equipment for future use by re-imaging devices, checking functionality, and updating deployment status records.
- Coordinate deployment schedules with users and internal contacts to manage device swaps efficiently and maintain project momentum.
- Assist with basic OneDrive file access concerns and support user-facing migration tasks tied to workstation deployment activities.
- Record completed work, update asset tracking information, and maintain accurate documentation throughout the deployment lifecycle.
- Follow site-specific safety rules, security procedures, and deployment standards while escalating more advanced technical problems when appropriate.
- Prior experience supporting PC refreshes, desktop deployments, or end-user migration projects in a structured work environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11, including troubleshooting common workstation issues.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and the ability to assist users with standard setup and support needs.
- Experience installing, configuring, and validating business software on desktop or laptop hardware.
- Ability to communicate clearly with end users and provide dependable customer support in an onsite setting.
- Comfort working independently, following documented procedures, and adapting to shifting project priorities.
- Dependable reliability, including consistent attendance and adherence to workplace expectations and safety requirements.
- Exposure to tools or environments such as Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Active Directory, or Azure AD is preferred.
