Original job description

We are looking for a Desktop Support Analyst to deliver hands-on technical assistance at a manufacturing site in Louisville, Kentucky. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving day-to-day technology issues, supporting employees in person, and serving as a trusted IT presence for both office and plant operations. The role works closely with a broader technology team while taking ownership of onsite support for local users and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-person technical support for end users across office and production settings, resolving a wide range of desktop and device-related issues.
  • Diagnose and address problems involving Windows workstations, business applications, printers, accessories, and routine connectivity concerns.
  • Set up, image, configure, and deploy desktops and laptops for new team members and current employees, including device refresh and replacement activities.
  • Administer basic Active Directory tasks such as account updates, password assistance, and security group maintenance.
  • Support manufacturing print devices, including Zebra label printers and multifunction equipment, with troubleshooting and connectivity checks.
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 and local workstation configuration, including application installs, domain enrollment, and controlled access setup.
  • Record incidents and service requests in the ticketing platform, maintain accurate support notes, and route advanced issues to specialized IT teams.
  • Provide limited support for macOS devices and legacy platforms, including user access issues tied to older business systems.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and travel occasionally to other locations for training, service coverage, or equipment support.
  • Proven experience providing Level I-II desktop or help desk support in a detail-oriented business environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows 10 troubleshooting for hardware, software, and end-user computing issues.
  • Practical experience with Active Directory Users and Computers, including user account and group management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and support for common productivity and access issues.
  • Experience with computer imaging, device deployment, and workstation configuration using standard desktop support tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot printers, label printers, multifunction devices, and related peripheral equipment.
  • Working understanding of basic networking concepts and the ability to identify when issues should be escalated.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and documentation skills, with the ability to work independently while partnering with a broader IT team.
