Original job description
We are looking for a Design Manager to join a Financial Services organization on a Contract basis in Dallas, Texas. This role will guide the visual direction of key communications and marketing efforts while supporting a small internal design team. The ideal candidate brings strong creative judgment, hands-on execution across print and digital channels, and the ability to uphold a cohesive brand presence across a wide range of initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Shape and oversee the visual approach for marketing, communications, and promotional initiatives across the organization.
- Direct, assign, and review work for two design team members, providing day-to-day leadership and constructive creative feedback.
- Produce high-quality design deliverables for digital campaigns, print materials, event assets, signage, and branded collateral.
- Ensure consistent application of brand standards across programs, events, internal initiatives, and external-facing materials.
- Develop fresh creative concepts from initial idea through final execution rather than only adapting existing templates.
- Coach internal team members on effective use of design tools, templates, and brand resources, including Canva-based assets.
- Partner with communications leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to translate goals into compelling visual solutions.
- Participate in meetings, events, and occasional travel as needed to support organizational projects and creative initiatives.
- Strong portfolio showcasing original graphic design work across both digital and print formats.
- Prior experience leading designers or managing creative workflows in a highly organized setting.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Solid understanding of brand stewardship and the ability to maintain consistency across multiple campaigns and audiences.
- Experience creating brochures, marketing materials, and other visual communication assets.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with leadership, internal teams, and partner groups.
- Familiarity with Canva and the ability to guide others in using templated design resources effectively.
