This role focuses on reviewing high volumes of customer deduction activity, resolving payment discrepancies, and protecting company revenue through careful analysis and follow-up. The ideal candidate brings strong accounts receivable experience, sound judgment, and the ability to work through complex claims that require manual review and documentation. This is a hybrid position with standard business hours.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate customer deductions, chargebacks, and billback claims to determine validity and take appropriate action toward resolution.
- Examine pricing terms, promotional programs, and supporting account details to confirm whether submitted claims meet approved conditions.
- Challenge unsupported or inaccurate deductions by preparing denials, submitting dispute documentation, and pursuing repayment when funds are owed back.
- Perform hands-on review of claims that require manual investigation within internal systems, ensuring each case is resolved accurately and completely.
- Track repayment activity, open balances, and aging items to support timely recovery and reduce outstanding exposure.
- Reconcile deduction-related transactions against customer accounts to maintain accurate receivable records and support financial reporting.
- Analyze deduction patterns and claim trends, then share findings that help improve recovery results and reduce repeat issues.
- Partner with sales, customer service, finance, and related teams to resolve complex discrepancies and address underlying causes of deductions.
- Assist with reporting, documentation, and month-end support tied to deduction activity and account status.
They do offer a full benefits package! They offer: medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid holidays, PTO, and MORE!
- Experience in accounts receivable, deductions processing, cash applications, billing, or a closely related finance function.
- Strong ability to review detailed account information and manage large volumes of transactional data with accuracy.
- Background investigating payment discrepancies, chargebacks, claims, or other short-paid customer invoices.
- Skilled in preparing dispute support, submitting denials, and following through on collection or repayment activity.
- High level of organization and attention to detail in work that goes beyond routine AR or standard cash posting tasks.
- Proficiency working within financial or claims systems and using spreadsheets or reporting tools to analyze account activity.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and document findings clearly.
