We are looking for a Credit Analyst to support receivables and customer credit activities for a Contract position based in Brooklyn Heights, Ohio. This role focuses on evaluating customer creditworthiness, maintaining account accuracy, and helping improve cash flow through effective collections follow-up. The ideal candidate brings commercial credit experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with sales and finance teams in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Review delinquent accounts and take appropriate action to recover outstanding balances while following company credit policies and supporting overall profitability.
- Collect and assess credit documentation for prospective customers, including commercial credit reports, banking details, and trade references, to support informed credit decisions.
- Set up new customer profiles in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and ensure all account data is entered completely and accurately.
- Communicate approved credit thresholds to the sales team and clearly document the reasons when applications do not meet approval criteria.
- Support lien waiver processing by confirming open balances and validating account status before documentation is released.
- Manage collection efforts within assigned territories by contacting past-due accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, resolving disputes, and escalating matters to outside agencies when appropriate.
- Process incoming credit applications and track customer exposure against established credit limits on an ongoing basis.
- Monitor aging accounts, negotiate repayment terms for overdue balances, and determine when final demand actions should be initiated.
- Work directly with selected customers to address receivables issues and secure timely resolution of payment delinquencies.
- At least 3 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial collections, or a closely related accounts receivable function.
- Hands-on experience reviewing credit applications and evaluating commercial credit risk using third-party reporting tools such as Dun & Bradstreet.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Salesforce in a credit, collections, or customer account environment.
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to organize, review, and maintain financial or account data accurately.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, sales partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on collection activities, and maintain accurate records in a deadline-driven setting.
