Cost Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Perform month‑end close activities and prepare journal entries for inventory, COGS, and fixed assets
• Reconcile inventory, cost of sales, and general ledger accounts
• Analyze variances including purchase price variances and work order variances
• Assist with inventory costing and related ERP activities
• Support internal/external audits including SOX testing and annual reviews
• Track capital expenditures, maintain fixed asset records, and handle prepaid amortization
• Prepare business property tax filings and U.S. Census reporting
• Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to internal accounting policies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in an manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience supporting medium‑to‑large accounting environments
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling)
• Familiarity with ERP systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
