Controller

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations for a growing advanced manufacturing platform in League City, Texas. This position is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented finance leader who can establish strong reporting practices, strengthen internal controls, and support operational decision-making in a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with leadership to improve financial visibility across multiple facilities while helping build scalable processes for continued expansion.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across manufacturing operations.
• Oversee inventory accounting and cost analysis, including valuation, reserves, cycle counts, and reconciliation of system records to shop floor activity.
• Analyze production economics by monitoring job profitability, machine performance, and customer margins to support informed business decisions.
• Develop and maintain a consistent control framework, close calendar, and accounting procedures that can support growth across multiple locations.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow oversight, and financial planning activities.
• Support acquisition efforts by reviewing financial information for potential targets and assisting with post-close integration of accounting structures and controls.
• Coordinate audit, tax, and lender reporting requirements while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline reconciliations, reporting, and close activities through better use of systems, automation, and data analysis.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility in a manufacturing setting.
• Prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller with strong ownership of month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, including job costing, overhead allocation, standard versus actual analysis, and inventory accounting.
• Demonstrated ability to work directly in ERP or accounting systems and independently extract and analyze financial data.
• Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions activities, including financial diligence and accounting integration.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed to support reviews of operating sites and acquisition opportunities.
