Original job description

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to support a major government contracting closeout effort. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate who understands the full lifecycle of federal agreements and can bring structure, accuracy, and momentum to complex closeout activities. The person in this role will work across contract files, stakeholders, and compliance requirements to help ensure obligations are resolved thoroughly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end contract closeout activities for a high-volume portfolio of federal agreements, ensuring timely completion of required actions and documentation.
  • Review contract records, funding status, modifications, deliverables, and administrative files to confirm each award is ready for final closure.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, program contacts, finance partners, and external stakeholders to resolve open items that may delay closeout.
  • Track milestones, risks, and dependencies across the closeout effort, providing clear status updates and helping maintain overall project momentum.
  • Interpret government contracting terms and applicable regulations to support compliant closeout decisions and accurate file completion.
  • Identify missing, inconsistent, or outdated contract information and drive corrective actions to improve documentation quality.
  • Organize and maintain closeout records in a structured manner that supports audit readiness and internal reporting needs.
  • Partner with operations and project leadership to prioritize workload, remove roadblocks, and support successful execution of the broader closeout initiative.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contract closeout work within federal government contracting environments.
  • Strong knowledge of government contract administration principles, documentation standards, and compliance expectations.
  • Background handling federal contracts throughout the contract lifecycle, with particular depth in closeout activities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, monitor progress, and keep large-scale operational efforts on schedule.
  • Solid project management skills, including coordination across stakeholders, issue resolution, and status reporting.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to review complex records and identify gaps or discrepancies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and contract stakeholders.
