We are looking for a Senior Compliance Specialist to join a growing insurance organization. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who can strengthen regulatory oversight, guide compliance practices, and support both company and carrier-related operations. The role calls for a strong background in insurance regulation, risk-based compliance, and cross-functional operational support within a complex insurance environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program that supports insurance operations and aligns with applicable regulatory standards.
- Monitor changing insurance laws, regulations, and filing requirements, translating updates into practical guidance for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct compliance reviews, risk assessments, and due diligence activities to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Partner with operational and business teams to establish controls, document procedures, and promote consistent adherence to regulatory expectations.
- Provide oversight for carrier-related compliance matters, including activities connected to production operations and market-specific requirements.
- Support audits, examinations, and regulatory inquiries by preparing documentation, coordinating responses, and tracking follow-up items.
- Advise leadership on compliance exposure, emerging regulatory issues, and process improvements that reduce organizational risk.
- Contribute to specialized initiatives such as product compliance reviews, licensing-related support, or trade compliance matters when applicable
- Significant experience in insurance regulatory compliance, preferably in a senior-level compliance or regulatory management capacity.
- Strong knowledge of insurance carrier operations, regulatory obligations, and compliance risk management practices.
- Background in due diligence, compliance monitoring, and developing controls within insurance-focused organizations.
- Familiarity with admitted, non-admitted, or surplus lines insurance markets is highly valued.
- Ability to interpret regulations, assess operational impact, and communicate compliance expectations clearly across teams.
- Experience supporting audits, regulatory reviews, or formal examinations within a regulated insurance environment.
- Additional exposure to product design compliance, international trade compliance, or insurance licensing is a plus.
