Original job description

Robert Half Management Resources is looking for a Compensation Manager to join one of our clients on an interim basis. This role is suited for a compensation specialist who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution across core compensation programs and market analysis. The position will contribute to day-to-day compensation activities, support total rewards initiatives, and provide practical guidance grounded in data and sound compensation practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead compensation assessments for new, revised, and existing positions by analyzing external market data and aligning recommendations with internal pay practices.
  • Contribute to the administration and refinement of salary structures, broad-based compensation programs, and executive pay initiatives.
  • Work with HR operations and technical teams to maintain and improve compensation-related setup, job architecture, and approval processes within Workday.
  • Provide compensation guidance for hiring decisions, promotions, transfers, and other employee movement scenarios that require careful pay evaluation.
  • Assist with adherence to pay transparency standards and other applicable regulatory requirements affecting compensation practices.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and Legal to support reporting, program implementation, and total rewards projects.
  • Use survey results and benchmarking methodologies, including Aon Radford resources, to evaluate market competitiveness and inform compensation decisions.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in compensation, including work within large-scale or publicly traded organizations.
  • Advanced practical expertise with Workday, especially compensation functionality, job profiles, and workflow configuration.
  • Strong experience using Aon Radford market data for benchmarking, pricing analysis, and salary structure support.
  • Solid knowledge of compensation frameworks, job evaluation methods, pay range development, and both executive and broad-based compensation concepts.
  • Demonstrated analytical strength with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel skills and a high level of accuracy when managing detailed compensation information.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced business environment.
