Original job description
We are looking for a Business Analyst to join a fast-moving advisory environment in New York, where you will contribute to high-impact transaction and strategic projects across healthcare and technology. This position offers close collaboration with senior executives, founders, and investors while providing meaningful exposure to mergers and acquisitions, capital raising efforts, and market intelligence work. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage several priorities with a high degree of independence.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to merger, acquisition, and fundraising engagements through each stage of the deal lifecycle, from initial planning to closing activities.
- Join discussions with client leadership, including founders, chief executives, and investors, to capture priorities and support transaction progress.
- Create clear briefing documents, presentation materials, and other decision-support content for client and investor audiences.
- Develop and update lists of prospective buyers, investors, and strategic targets to support outreach and transaction strategy.
- Assist with due diligence coordination by organizing information, monitoring requests, and helping move execution workstreams forward.
- Review financial forecasts provided by clients and refine Excel-based models to support analysis and scenario evaluation.
- Monitor active opportunities, transaction timelines, and key milestones to help maintain visibility across multiple concurrent projects.
- Perform industry, market, and competitive research using modern AI-enabled tools, including Claude, to produce relevant business insights.
- Deliver client-ready materials in PowerPoint and other formats while balancing multiple assignments with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- At least 2 years of experience in business analysis, consulting, transaction support, strategic finance, due diligence, or a related analytical function.
- Strong Excel capabilities with the ability to interpret financial projections and work confidently within structured models.
- Demonstrated experience preparing clear, effective presentations using PowerPoint for business or client-facing settings.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to interact effectively with executives and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with AI-supported research platforms, including Claude or similar tools, for gathering and synthesizing information.
- Proven ability to stay organized, manage competing deadlines, and perform well in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Self-directed work style with the judgment to move projects forward independently while maintaining quality and responsiveness.
- Interest in healthcare, technology, startups, venture capital, or M&A-related work is strongly preferred.
