Business Analyst

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join a California team in a contract capacity with the potential to become permanent. This position serves as a key connector between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating operational needs into practical data, reporting, and process improvement solutions. The role focuses heavily on analytics, application support, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment, with an emphasis on creating reliable reporting and a consistent source of trusted data. This individual will work across cross-functional initiatives while helping drive project delivery through structured analysis and Agile practices.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with business leaders and IT teams to gather, clarify, and document requirements for operational and technical initiatives.
• Lead data-focused efforts that improve reporting accuracy, strengthen governance, and establish a dependable single source of truth across business functions.
• Develop and enhance dashboards and reporting tools in Power BI to support decision-making in areas such as supply chain, accounting, quality, and production performance.
• Analyze existing workflows, identify process gaps, and recommend automation opportunities that increase efficiency, consistency, and visibility.
• Support enterprise applications and business initiatives by assessing needs, coordinating solutions, and helping standardize processes across teams.
• Oversee project progress within an Agile framework, using Azure DevOps to track work, manage priorities, and maintain accountability with development resources.
• Perform data validation, cleansing, and analysis activities to improve data quality and ensure information is flowing correctly between systems.
• Collaborate with external development teams to review deliverables, clarify expectations, and help keep projects aligned with scope and timelines.
• Contribute to readiness planning and business process support for future platform and ERP-related initiatives as needed.
• 5+ years of experience in business analysis, technical project coordination, or a closely related role.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboard creation, reporting, and business insight generation.
• Working knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies, with the ability to support project delivery in an iterative environment.
• Experience gathering requirements, conducting gap analysis, and translating business needs into actionable technical documentation.
• Strong background in data analysis, including data cleansing, validation, and reporting support.
• Familiarity with Azure-based tools or Azure SQL environments, along with exposure to ETL or data integration concepts.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including business users, developers, and application support teams.
• Manufacturing industry experience is preferred, but not required.
