The ideal candidate brings strong bookkeeping experience, sound judgment when resolving billing discrepancies, and the ability to manage recurring financial tasks with consistency and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable activities by recording incoming ACH and check payments and maintaining accurate customer balances.
- Review invoices for accuracy, investigate billing discrepancies, and follow up on issues that affect timely payment.
- Monitor outstanding balances, prepare aging reports, and communicate on accounts that move beyond standard payment terms, including those over 30 days past due.
- Verify cash receipts and complete regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial records align with daily transactions.
- Process weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees in a union manufacturing environment using Paycom.
- Maintain payroll-related records, including union dues and reporting of hours worked for employee medical benefit administration.
- Support day-to-day bookkeeping functions by keeping financial data organized, current, and ready for review.
- Assist with routine accounting follow-up to help ensure payment activity and payroll records remain accurate and complete.
- 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or a closely related accounting support role.
- Hands-on experience with accounts receivable, including payment posting, invoice review, and collections follow-up.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliations and verifying cash receipt activity.
- Background processing payroll, preferably on a weekly schedule for a larger employee population.
- Familiarity with union payroll requirements, including dues tracking and hours reporting, is strongly preferred.
- Experience using QuickBooks and Paycom or comparable accounting and payroll systems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
