Original job description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to support billing and accounts receivable activities for a growing organization in Georgia. This contract position with permanent potential is best suited for someone with construction billing experience who can manage invoicing, documentation, and follow-up tasks with accuracy and consistency. The role offers a part-time schedule and requires an onsite presence to work closely with project and operational teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly invoicing and accounts receivable activities for construction and partner-related projects, ensuring billing is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare and submit payment applications, invoices, and supporting documentation through general contractor billing platforms such as Textura, GCPay, and similar portals.
- Oversee lien waiver processing and confirm required waiver documents are included with each billing package to help prevent payment delays.
- Monitor outstanding balances and conduct collection follow-up with customers and contractors to support timely cash receipts.
- Create and maintain project records in Sage 300, including setup updates and billing-related data maintenance.
- Work closely with internal project teams to gather billing details, verify contract requirements, and resolve discrepancies before submission.
- Track compliance-related documentation tied to project billing so invoices meet customer and contractor requirements.
- Support recurring billing cycles across multiple active projects, balancing more complex construction billing with traditional invoice processing needs.
- Experience in billing, accounts receivable, or invoicing roles, preferably within the construction industry.
- Hands-on knowledge of construction billing processes, including pay applications, lien waivers, and collections.
- Proficiency with Sage 300 for project setup, maintenance, and billing support.
- Familiarity with contractor payment and billing platforms such as Textura, GCPay, or similar systems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage documentation accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with project teams and follow through on outstanding billing items.
- Comfortable working in a part-time, onsite role with a schedule of approximately 20 to 25 hours per week.
- General understanding of project accounting principles and billing compliance requirements.
