Billing and Collections Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Billing & Collections Specialist. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in high-volume billing and collections within the nursing home or long-term care industry. The Billing & Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing billing processes, following up on outstanding balances, and ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Medical Assistance billing and strong working knowledge of PointClickCare. This person must be comfortable handling a high-capacity workload in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Required: Billing and Collections Experience in a nursing home setting
• Required: Nursing home and/or long-term care billing experience
• Required: Experience with Medical Assistance billing
• Required: Strong skills and knowledge in PointClickCare
• Ability to manage billing in a high-volume, high-capacity environment
• Strong knowledge of billing procedures, collections processes, and reimbursement practices
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-up abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage high-volume billing and collections activities for nursing home residents and accounts
• Submit and follow up on claims, payments, denials, and account discrepancies
• Handle Medical Assistance billing accurately and in compliance with applicable guidelines
• Use PointClickCare effectively to manage billing records, claims activity, and account updates
• Work closely with internal teams, residents, families, and payers to resolve billing issues
• Monitor aging reports and take appropriate action on outstanding accounts
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
• Support overall revenue cycle efforts and ensure timely collections
