Original job description

We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join a litigation practice. This opportunity is suited for a lawyer who can independently drive matters forward from initial filing through resolution while delivering strong advocacy in and out of the courtroom. The role offers exposure to a diverse mix of disputes, including construction-related matters, liability claims involving architects and engineers, employment cases, healthcare liability defense, and broader commercial litigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a full caseload from intake through settlement, dismissal, or trial, ensuring each matter progresses efficiently and strategically.
  • Lead core litigation activities such as written discovery, depositions, motion drafting, hearing preparation, mediation participation, and trial readiness.
  • Represent clients in court by presenting evidence, arguing contested issues, examining witnesses, and addressing judges on procedural and substantive matters.
  • Analyze statutes, case law, regulations, and factual records to assess risk, shape defense strategies, and support client recommendations.
  • Prepare persuasive legal documents, including motions, briefs, and other pleadings, with a high standard of accuracy and advocacy.
  • Develop case strategies by evaluating investigation results, identifying legal defenses, and building arguments for negotiation or courtroom presentation.
  • Handle matters involving commercial disputes, construction law, employment litigation, healthcare liability defense, and related complex business claims.
  • Use modern cloud-based case management and communication tools to help organize litigation workflows and maintain effective collaboration. For confidential consideration, email your resume directly to rosemarie.jones<at>roberthalf.<com>
  • Active license to practice law in Texas is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial litigation, with the ability to define challenges, analyze problems, and implement solutions in a proactive manner.
  • Demonstrated background in civil litigation, including discovery, briefing, motion practice, and deposition work.
  • Strong legal writing skills with experience preparing clear, well-supported motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Experience supporting cases through trial preparation; second-chair or first-chair trial experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to evaluate legal and factual issues, recommend sound defense strategies, and advocate effectively for clients.
  • Familiarity with complex litigation matters such as business disputes, construction litigation, employment litigation, or insurance defense is preferred. Keep going. Success is just around the corner. Call Rosie Jones at 214-999-0909
