Original job description

We are looking for an attorney with proven commercial real estate experience to join a respected legal practice. This opportunity is suited to someone who is detail oriented and can navigate complex property transactions, produce precise legal documentation, and advise clients with sound judgment. The role offers meaningful exposure to sophisticated matters involving commercial, multifamily, and mixed-use assets within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on a wide range of commercial real estate matters involving purchases, sales, leasing arrangements, and financing transactions.
  • Support and lead deal execution for property acquisitions and dispositions by coordinating legal documentation and managing transaction timelines.
  • Prepare, analyze, and negotiate real estate agreements, including leases, purchase contracts, operating agreements, and lending-related documents.
  • Develop first drafts of term sheets, loan materials, and other transaction instruments, then refine them based on legal and business considerations.
  • Examine lender conditions, closing packages, and related records to identify issues, recommend revisions, and facilitate successful closings.
  • Assemble post-closing materials such as summaries, certificates, statements, and compliance documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintain organized matter files and track outstanding deliverables to ensure transactions progress efficiently and all requirements are satisfied.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, lenders, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in transactions to resolve issues and move matters forward.
  • Take primary responsibility for a substantial portion of assigned files while collaborating with senior attorneys on more intricate deal structures and legal questions.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience handling commercial real estate matters in a law firm or similar legal setting.
  • Background supporting transactions involving property acquisitions, sales, leasing, and finance matters.
  • Familiarity with complex commercial real estate lending structures; experience with advanced loan transactions is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage matters with a high level of independence while exercising strong legal judgment.
  • Excellent drafting, legal writing, research, and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate documentation, transaction flow, and industry terminology.
  • Careful attention to detail, strong organizational habits, and the ability to balance multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with effective verbal and written communication skills.
