Original job description
We are looking for an experienced procurement leader to support strategic sourcing and contracting initiatives for a large client. This Long-term Contract position focuses on enterprise-level IT and indirect spend categories, with opportunities aligned to artificial intelligence, clearinghouse and claims-related solutions, or financial services. The role is best suited for someone who can manage complex negotiations, guide cross-functional sourcing efforts, and deliver thoughtful recommendations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead sourcing initiatives across enterprise technology and indirect spend areas, with emphasis on software, services, and business process applications.
- Develop category strategies that align business needs with market intelligence, cost considerations, and supplier risk assessments.
- Direct the full procurement lifecycle, from opportunity assessment and supplier engagement through contract execution and implementation support.
- Negotiate complex commercial agreements, including master service agreements, statements of work, and other vendor terms for high-value engagements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate supplier capabilities and shape sourcing approaches for AI, clearinghouse and claims transaction solutions, or financial services engagements.
- Manage multiple procurement projects at once while maintaining clear priorities, timelines, and communication across functional teams.
- Use data analysis, benchmarking, and financial evaluation to support recommendations and strengthen sourcing decisions.
- Present sourcing strategies and negotiation positions to leadership in a concise, persuasive manner that builds alignment and accelerates decisions
- At least 5 years of progressive experience leading strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement initiatives in complex business environments.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience negotiating sophisticated contracts, including master agreements and statements of work.
- Strong ability to work through ambiguity, assess alternatives, and make sound recommendations using facts and structured analysis.
- Demonstrated success managing competing priorities in a high-demand setting while maintaining strong organization and follow-through.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple levels of an organization.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience in IT software, hardware, clearinghouse services, claims processing, electronic data interchange, payment solutions, artificial intelligence, or financial services is strongly preferred.
