Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer

We are looking for an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer to create intelligent applications and production-ready AI services that deliver measurable business value. This role is based in Irvine, California, and blends backend engineering, frontend development, and operational ownership to bring AI capabilities into real-world products. The ideal candidate is comfortable building agent-based workflows, shaping reliable prompt strategies, and partnering with stakeholders to turn complex needs into practical technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Create and launch web-based products, AI-enabled services, and multi-step agent workflows that support complex tool interactions and orchestrated decision-making.
• Develop and support integrations with leading language model platforms, including capabilities such as streaming responses, prompt optimization, tool invocation, and cached interactions.
• Craft, refine, and assess prompts to improve output quality while balancing consistency, safety considerations, and usage cost.
• Build Python-based REST APIs and React/TypeScript user interfaces that expose AI functionality in a scalable and user-friendly way.
• Manage deployment and operational processes for AI systems, including container builds, automated delivery pipelines, cloud hosting, and runtime observability.
• Design and optimize database queries for relational data stores to ensure strong performance and dependable access patterns.
• Establish testing approaches for both predictable application logic and variable AI behavior through evaluation harnesses, regression coverage, and automated validation.
• Work closely with cross-functional partners to define use cases, align technical choices with business priorities, and deliver effective AI-backed solutions.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation covering system architecture, prompt strategy, and the expected behavior and limitations of AI agents.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in software engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in software development, including a strong foundation in building production applications.
• Demonstrated experience with Python and frameworks such as Flask or Django for backend service development.
• Hands-on background working with Anthropic tools and models, including practical use of the associated development console.
• Solid knowledge of REST API design, Git-based version control, and engineering best practices for collaborative development.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including writing efficient queries and troubleshooting data issues.
• Ability to build and debug agentic AI workflows, including multi-turn execution, tool-calling patterns, error handling, and validation strategies.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD workflows, cloud environments such as AWS or Azure, and testing tools like pytest or jest, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
