AR Specialist

A growing construction services organization is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to own the billing and collections process for a high-volume portfolio of commercial and multifamily projects across multiple states. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys customer interaction, and has a strong understanding of construction receivables and collections.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable activities for a large portfolio of commercial and construction-related customers.
• Prepare and submit progress billings, AIA pay applications, retention billings, and change order invoices.
• Track and follow up on outstanding receivables, proactively driving collections and resolving payment delays.
• Work closely with customers, project teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely payment and accurate billing.
• Manage lien waivers, affidavits, and customer-specific billing requirements and portals.
• Review aging reports, identify collection priorities, and support strong cash flow performance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of accounts receivable and collections experience.
• Construction industry experience required.
• Experience with progress billing, retention billing, AIA billing, schedules of values, change orders, and lien waivers.
• Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a high-visibility role.
• Experience with ERP systems; construction software experience is a plus.
