This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity for someone who can step in quickly, support high-volume receivables activity, and help restore timely processing across daily financial tasks. The role is fully onsite and is well suited to a dependable team member who works accurately, stays organized, and communicates effectively in a fast-paced office environment.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile daily university-related charges and ensure account activity is recorded accurately and on time.
- Prepare and issue tenant invoices for commercial properties while maintaining organized billing records.
- Monitor outstanding balances, follow up on receivables, and help drive timely collection of funds.
- Count and verify cash receipts from multiple registers, including significantly higher volumes during event days.
- Post store sales into the accounting system and produce summary reports for management review.
- Investigate discrepancies between locations and coordinate with internal contacts to resolve variances promptly.
- Support accounts receivable catch-up efforts by prioritizing overdue items and maintaining steady workflow accuracy.
- Use established procedures and reference materials to complete tasks independently with limited day-to-day oversight.
- Prior experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a closely related accounting support position.
- Ability to manage invoice volume that can range from a handful per day to heavy peak-period activity.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in reconciliation, posting, and cash handling.
- Proven organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a small office setting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with cash handling and financial recordkeeping in a business environment.
- Familiarity with Sage MAS 500 or Sage 500 is preferred, but training can be provided.
- Reliable attendance and a detail-oriented, team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this role.
