Locations (Hybrid): Atlanta, GA | Nashville, TN (Must reside near and be able to work hybrid out of one of these regional hub locations) Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential to extend based on performance and project scope) Work Schedule: Full-Time (40 Hours / Week) Employment Type: Contract
About the Role We are seeking an innovative, forward-thinking AI Experience Designer to join our design team for a 6-month contract engagement with potential for extension. In this role, you will define and design user-centered experiences powered by artificial intelligence, generative models, and intelligent automation. Positioned at the intersection of UX design, product strategy, and conversational AI, you will craft intuitive interaction models, agentic workflows, and UI patterns that make complex AI interactions feel seamless, transparent, and delight-driven for our users.
Key Responsibilities
- AI Experience & Interaction Design: Map end-to-end user journeys for AI-powered features, establishing novel interaction patterns for conversational interfaces, copilot experiences, predictive workflows, and generative outputs.
- Prototyping & Workflow Design: Create low-to-high fidelity wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and system logic diagrams in Figma to demonstrate dynamic AI behaviors and state changes.
- Human-AI Interface Guidelines: Help build and maintain design system guidelines specifically for AI components, including prompt interfaces, feedback loops, confidence indicators, and error-handling states.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with AI/ML engineers, product managers, content strategists, and research teams to translate technical capabilities into clear, ethical, and accessible user interfaces.
- User Testing & Iteration: Design and run usability evaluations to test prompt clarity, AI output comprehension, user trust, and friction points, rapidly iterating based on qualitative and quantitative feedback.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Experience: 4+ years of UX/UI, Product Design, or Interaction Design experience, with dedicated hands-on experience designing AI-driven, LLM, or machine learning interfaces.
- Design & Prototyping Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Figma (including variables, auto-layout, interactive components) and advanced prototyping tools to model dynamic AI responses.
- AI Product Familiarity: Deep understanding of AI design challenges, including trust building, prompt design, system latency management, fallbacks, transparency, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating strong interaction design fundamentals, user-centric problem solving, and specific examples of AI/ML or complex workflow projects.
- Location & Hybrid Schedule: Must reside near Atlanta, GA or Nashville, TN and be available to work 40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity (combining remote and in-office collaboration).
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of front-end capabilities, APIs, and how modern LLMs process inputs/outputs.
- Background in conversational UI design, prompt engineering, or information architecture.
- Experience integrating AI guidelines into established enterprise design systems.
