The role is ideal for someone who can translate evolving regulatory expectations into clear controls that support innovation while protecting the business.
Responsibilities:
- Design and refine governance frameworks, policy standards, and review processes that guide the responsible use of AI across the organization.
- Assess internally developed and externally sourced AI solutions to identify concerns related to security, privacy, compliance, and operational risk.
- Oversee a centralized record of AI tools and use cases, ensuring approved implementations remain visible, current, and properly governed.
- Define control measures for employee-created AI solutions, including expectations for data access, retention, and acceptable content handling.
- Partner with audit, risk, and control teams to address identified weaknesses, strengthen oversight, and communicate program status to leadership.
- Provide practical guidance to business teams on responsible AI adoption and adjust governance approaches as technologies and regulations continue to change.
- Contribute to risk assessments involving model governance, data governance, and architecture governance for AI-enabled initiatives.
- 7+ years of experience in technology governance, risk management, compliance, cybersecurity, data governance, or AI-related oversight functions.
- Working knowledge of responsible AI frameworks, AI governance standards, and emerging control expectations relevant to regulated environments.
- Understanding of data protection practices, vendor risk reviews, change management processes, and technology control frameworks.
- Ability to evaluate technical risk and communicate findings in a clear, business-focused manner to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience supporting governance activities involving AI tools, large language models, or automated decision technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- Familiarity with skills such as Microsoft SQL, data analysis, risk assessments, model governance, project governance, or master data governance is valued.
- Certifications related to governance, risk, security, audit, or compliance are preferred.
