Original job description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to support gift and payment processing activities for a Contract assignment based in Michigan. This role is well suited to someone who can step into a contract assignment quickly, work independently with limited training, and manage sensitive financial and donor-related records with care. The position focuses on accurate transaction entry, receivables support, and timely documentation while helping maintain organized and reliable financial data.

Responsibilities:

  • Process gifts, payments, and related receivable transactions accurately and within required timelines.
  • Enter and batch financial information in the appropriate system while maintaining complete and reliable records.
  • Prepare acknowledgment correspondence and tax receipt documentation for submitted gifts.
  • Apply cash receipts and support commercial collection activities as needed to keep accounts current.
  • Reconcile recorded gifts and receivable activity with the business office to resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of donor and payment data within Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge or a similar platform.
  • Handle confidential financial and donor information with professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Provide additional administrative and accounts receivable support duties as assigned during the coverage period.
  • At least 1 year of experience in accounts receivable, gift processing, or a closely related financial support role.
  • Prior hands-on experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge is required.
  • Demonstrated background in gift entry, batch processing, data entry, and cash application activities.
  • Familiarity with accounts receivable practices, including payment posting and cash collections.
  • Strong accuracy skills and close attention to detail when working with financial transactions.
  • Ability to manage confidential information responsibly and maintain a high level of discretion.
  • Capable of contributing immediately in a contract assignment with minimal onboarding or supervision.
