- Record customer payments in the accounting system and match funds to the correct outstanding invoices with a high level of accuracy.
- Process a variety of incoming payment types, including checks, electronic transfers, and card transactions, while keeping account activity current.
- Investigate payment variances, unidentified receipts, and unapplied cash to help ensure customer ledgers remain accurate.
- Review account balances regularly and assist with reconciling customer records to resolve short payments, overpayments, and related discrepancies.
- Support daily cash activity by helping verify deposits and maintaining complete documentation for audit and tracking purposes.
- Respond to routine payment-related questions and provide administrative assistance to the accounts receivable function as needed.
- Scan, file, and organize invoices, remittance details, and other accounting records so documentation is easy to retrieve and up to date.
- Contribute to general accounting and office support tasks while meeting daily processing deadlines in a structured office environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Exposure to accounting, bookkeeping, office administration, or related clerical work is preferred but not mandatory.
