Accounts Payable Specialist

A busy construction organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a high-volume invoice workflow across multiple active projects. This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of accurate job coding, organized documentation, and keeping vendors and subcontractors paid on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process vendor and subcontractor invoices for multiple construction projects.
• Match invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and receiving documentation.
• Code expenses to the appropriate jobs, cost codes, and general ledger accounts.
• Review lien waivers, W-9s, and vendor insurance documentation.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Prepare weekly payment batches and assist with check runs and ACH payments.
• Communicate with project managers and vendors regarding invoice status.
• 2+ years of accounts payable experience.
• Construction or project-based accounting experience preferred.
• Familiarity with job costing and construction invoice workflows.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software.
• High level of accuracy and ability to manage deadlines.
