Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day payables operations for a team based in Wilmington, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong attention to detail, accuracy in invoice handling, and confidence working with payment processing activities. The person in this role will help maintain timely vendor payments, ensure financial records are coded correctly, and contribute to an organized accounts payable workflow.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming invoices, verify supporting details, and assign accurate account codes before processing
• Manage accounts payable transactions from receipt through approval and final payment
• Prepare and process ACH payments and assist with scheduled check disbursements
• Reconcile payment activity and investigate discrepancies to help maintain accurate financial records
• Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice or payment-related questions
• Maintain organized documentation for invoices, approvals, and payment records in accordance with company procedures
• Experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support function
• Demonstrated ability to code invoices and apply account classifications accurately
• Hands-on knowledge of ACH payment processing and check run procedures
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a high volume of financial documents
• Comfortable using accounting systems and standard business software for data entry and tracking
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal teams
