Accounting Specialist

We're seeking an experienced General Accounting Specialist for a contract assignment with a well-established organization. This role is ideal for accounting professionals who enjoy stepping into new environments, learning a business quickly, and providing immediate value across multiple accounting functions. The ideal candidate will bring a well-rounded accounting background and the ability to work independently while partnering with operations, leadership, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash application functions
• Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting activities
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies while improving processes
• Partner with operations, purchasing, and leadership teams to support business objectives

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience across multiple accounting functions
• Strong understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, general ledger, and month-end processes
• Ability to work independently and quickly learn new systems and workflows
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software

Preferred ERP & Accounting Systems Experience

Experience with one or more of the following systems is highly desirable:

• SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, JD Edwards
• Epicor, Infor, Acumatica, IQMS, Sage X3
• QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage Intacct
• BlackLine, Adaptive Planning, Concur
• Advanced Excel including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting, and data analysis
