Original job description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead key corporate accounting activities in Burbank, California. This role plays an important part in delivering accurate financial close, consolidated reporting, audit coordination, and compliance support across a multi-entity environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to guide processes and people while improving the efficiency and reliability of financial operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead designated portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycle, ensuring journal entries, reconciliations, validations, and issue resolution are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Analyze consolidated financial results and investigate notable fluctuations across revenue, margins, expenses, balance sheet accounts, intercompany activity, and prior-period adjustments, partnering with finance and operational teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and review recurring reporting packages for senior leadership, board-level stakeholders, lenders, and other internal audiences, ensuring commentary, schedules, and analysis are complete and consistent.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator for external audit activity by organizing requests, monitoring deliverables, reviewing support schedules, and facilitating communication between internal teams and auditors.
  • Support tax-related compliance work by gathering required information, assisting with provisions and filings, maintaining transfer pricing support, and responding to inquiries in collaboration with outside advisors.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting processes, including reconciliations, eliminations, fee calculations, loan-related compliance, and correction of differences between local and consolidated records.
  • Administer important aspects of the global insurance program, such as renewals, exposure reporting, broker and carrier communication, claims documentation, and payment follow-up.
  • Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and process documentation to encourage consistent execution, compliance readiness, and continuity across regions.
  • Drive process enhancements and automation efforts using Excel, Power Query, AI-enabled tools, and other workflow technologies to improve reporting quality, control effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Supervise assigned staff by setting priorities, reviewing output, offering technical guidance, and supporting timely completion of ongoing responsibilities and special projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required; CPA is highly preferred.
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, audit, consolidation, or financial reporting, ideally within a multinational or multi-entity organization.
  • Strong understanding of financial close procedures, consolidated reporting, account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, internal controls, and audit preparation.
  • Experience working with external auditors, tax advisors, brokers, consultants, or similar third-party partners.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and cross-functional assignments while maintaining accuracy, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Advanced Excel capability is required, including formulas and data analysis; experience with Power Query, Power BI, workflow automation, or similar tools is highly valued.
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger processes, journal entries, financial statement audits, and consolidated financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or comparable accounting systems is preferred.
