Accounting Manager/Supervisor

This Regional Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller position is ideal for someone coming from a publicly traded, multi-state company environment who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced setting and enjoys leading teams while driving strong financial controls and reporting processes. This role will report directly to the Controller and oversee a team of accounting professionals.

As the Regional Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller, you will:

• Lead and mentor a team of accounting staff, fostering accountability, development, and operational excellence.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for multiple business units and locations.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Support and maintain a strong internal control environment, including SOX compliance initiatives.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses.
• Partner with operational and finance leaders across multiple sites to support business performance.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Drive process improvements and efficiencies across accounting and reporting functions.
• Support internal and external audits and respond to compliance-related requests.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze large volumes of financial data and deliver meaningful reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management responsibilities.
• Experience within a large, publicly traded organization strongly preferred.
• Background supporting multi-state, multi-site operations and multiple business units.
• Strong understanding of SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Proven success working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Demonstrated history of stable employment and long-term tenure with previous employers.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong overall systems proficiency.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
