Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager with strong grant experience to support our client in the public sector. This role will oversee core accounting activities, strengthen grant-related financial oversight, and ensure accurate reporting for internal and governmental requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly close process for the department, ensuring timelines are met and financial data is complete and accurate.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity to maintain strong accounting controls.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, identifying variances and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Manage grant accounting activities, including tracking expenditures and supporting compliance with funding requirements.
• Coordinate government reporting obligations and ensure submissions are accurate, timely, and well-documented.
• Oversee balance sheet and account reconciliation processes to support audit readiness and reliable financial reporting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams using NetSuite and Salesforce data to improve reporting accuracy and financial visibility.
• Support audit requests by organizing schedules, validating supporting documentation, and responding to financial inquiries.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility in complex accounting environments.
• Strong background in month-end close, general ledger management, and journal entry review.
• Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and supporting financial statement audits.
• Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation and identifying accounting discrepancies.
• Knowledge of grant accounting principles, compliance standards, and government financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with close attention to detail.
