Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support our client in the Danbury Connecticut area through the end of December in a Contract position. This role partners closely with the Director of Business and Operations to keep core financial and accounting functions running smoothly. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage confidential matters in a structured, service-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily accounting activities ensuring accurate processing, strong controls, and timely support for organization activities.
• Oversee accounts payable workflows, including transaction review, and accurate posting of financial records.
• Manage fund balancing and reconciliation activities by coordinating bank reconciliations, grant tracking, and account reviews with external finance partners.
• Supervise assigned office staff, provide direction across functional areas, and help maintain efficient workflow within payroll, accounting, and support services.
