Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support a contract engagement based in Chicago, Illinois. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can oversee core close activities, manage multi-entity consolidations, and help maintain accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced environment. The position requires strong knowledge of general ledger operations, reconciliations, and audit support, along with experience working in Workday Financial Management. This is a Contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close activities across multiple entities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial records are complete and accurate.
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger activity to maintain reliable accounting data.
• Coordinate the consolidation of financial results for multiple business units and support the preparation of internal and external reporting packages.
• Partner with stakeholders to resolve accounting issues, investigate variances, and strengthen the accuracy of period-end reporting.
• Support financial statement audit requests by organizing documentation, answering inquiries, and assisting with schedules and analysis.
• Monitor accounting workflows within Workday Financial Management and contribute to efficient execution of daily and month-end processes.
• Demonstrated experience in an Accounting Manager or comparable accounting leadership role.
• Strong background in multi-entity consolidations and month-end close management.
• Solid knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation.
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and working with audit documentation.
• Hands-on proficiency with Workday Financial Management.
• Ability to work effectively in a contract role within a deadline-driven accounting environment.
