The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a hands-on approach to close activities, and the ability to manage compliance-focused financial processes in a structured environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead accounting support for grant-funded programs, including financial oversight before awards are finalized and throughout the full award lifecycle.
- Manage month-end close activities by reviewing balances, preparing supporting schedules, and ensuring deadlines are met accurately.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity correctly and resolving discrepancies that affect reporting integrity.
- Prepare and review journal entries to support routine accounting operations and grant-related transactions.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate variances to keep financial data complete and reliable.
- Coordinate documentation and reporting required for financial statement audits, responding to requests with accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor grant spending and funding activity to help maintain compliance with program terms, internal controls, and reporting obligations.
- Experience in accounting leadership or senior-level accounting support, preferably in a grant-funded environment.
- Strong working knowledge of month-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and journal entry preparation.
- Demonstrated ability to complete account reconciliations and resolve inconsistencies in financial records.

- Background in grant accounting, grant administration, or grant management across pre-award and post-award activities.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and compliance-driven reporting requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
