Accounting Analyst

We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to support core financial operations for a manufacturing organization in Van Buren Twp, Michigan. This Long-term Contract position will focus on maintaining accurate accounting records, processing key transactions, and helping ensure timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and general ledger activity, along with strong Excel skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing to support accurate financial operations.
• Prepare and review account and bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving outstanding items promptly.
• Record journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy to support monthly and periodic close activities.
• Process payroll-related accounting transactions and verify supporting documentation for completeness and correctness.
• Analyze financial data in Excel using formulas and related tools to identify trends, validate balances, and improve reporting accuracy.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to address invoice, payment, and account issues while maintaining strong service and compliance standards.
• Assist with ongoing accounting process support within SAP, including transaction review and data validation as needed.
• Experience in accounting or finance with practical knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing activities.
• Strong background in account reconciliation, including bank reconciliations and general ledger balancing.
• Ability to prepare journal entries and support routine month-end accounting processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas for analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with SAP or a comparable enterprise accounting system.
• Understanding of payroll-related accounting entries and financial documentation controls.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
