We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to support a business management and family services team in Woodland Hills, California. This position serves high-income and high-net-worth clients, combining hands-on accounting work with responsive day-to-day financial support. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage a wide range of bookkeeping responsibilities in a stable, long-term role.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee recurring bookkeeping activities across daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cycles for multiple client accounts.
- Manage outgoing and incoming cash activity, including bill payments, deposits, wire transfers, and client invoicing.
- Administer payroll processing for both administrative staff and household employees while maintaining accurate supporting records.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, investigate variances, and record transactions properly in the general ledger.
- Maintain complete financial records by posting journal entries, updating ledgers, and organizing documentation for future reference.
- Prepare or review year-end reporting support such as 1099 and W-2 information and coordinate related payment tracking.
- Compile financial schedules, trial balance support, and customized reports requested by clients or firm leadership.
- Assist with client onboarding, respond to time-sensitive requests, and provide attentive service to clients and their representatives.
- Support tax-related workflows by tracking deadlines, preserving documentation, answering accounting questions, and facilitating requested tax payments.
- Travel within the greater Los Angeles area when needed to support special projects, train client personnel, or help implement accounting processes at client sites.
- Proven experience performing full charge bookkeeping in a detail-focused services, family office, or similarly complex client environment.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and the ability to maintain accurate books across multiple accounts or entities.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
- Ability to prepare and analyze general ledger activity, journal entries, and financial reports with a high degree of accuracy.
- Comfort handling confidential financial information with sound judgment and discretion.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills, including the ability to build and update detailed financial tracking documents.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities and ad hoc requests.
