This is a hands-on leadership position, not a desk job. We are looking for someone who can successfully manage employees, oversee daily terminal activities, and step into the operation to work alongside the team when needed.

What You'll Be Doing

Terminal Operations & Transloading

Direct daily transloading activities involving liquid, chemical, and dry bulk materials.

Oversee the safe transfer of products between railcars, trucks, storage systems, and associated equipment.

Operate pumps, hoses, valves, transfer systems, and other terminal equipment as needed.

Work directly alongside employees to support daily production requirements.

Coordinate workflow, employee assignments, and operational priorities to meet customer expectations.

Monitor material handling procedures to prevent spills, contamination, product loss, and equipment damage.

Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and transfer documentation.

Mechanical Troubleshooting & Equipment Maintenance

Identify equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot mechanical or operational problems.

Perform basic mechanical repairs, adjustments, and routine maintenance within authorized capabilities.

Inspect transfer equipment, pumps, hoses, valves, and related components for proper operating conditions.

Coordinate more extensive repairs with maintenance personnel or outside service providers.

Take a proactive approach to equipment reliability and minimizing operational downtime.

Safety & Operational Compliance

Promote a safety-first work environment throughout the terminal.

Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, customer, and company safety requirements.

Verify that proper personal protective equipment is used during material handling and transfer activities.

Enforce proper procedures for handling chemicals, bulk materials, and potentially hazardous substances.

Identify unsafe conditions, investigate operational concerns, and implement corrective actions.

Maintain an organized, clean, and safe terminal environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications:

Previous hands-on experience in transloading, bulk material handling, terminal operations, or a closely related industrial environment.

Practical experience transferring liquid, chemical, or dry bulk products using industrial equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.

Experience performing basic mechanical repairs or equipment maintenance.

Previous supervisory or management experience with responsibility for employee performance, attendance, and accountability.

Ability and willingness to perform physical operational duties alongside employees.

Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage workplace conflicts and address difficult employee situations professionally.

Working knowledge of industrial safety procedures and equipment operation.

Ability to adapt to changing operational needs and respond to equipment or staffing challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

Direct experience operating railcar-to-truck or truck-to-railcar transfer systems.

Experience handling chemicals, soda ash, agricultural commodities, bulk liquids, or similar products.

Familiarity with pumps, piping systems, valves, hoses, compressors, and other industrial transfer equipment.

Experience working in railroad terminals, chemical facilities, industrial plants, or bulk distribution operations.

Knowledge of hazardous material handling, spill prevention, and applicable environmental requirements.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Work in an active industrial terminal environment, including outdoor conditions.

Perform physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, climbing, and handling equipment.

Safely operate industrial equipment and transfer systems after appropriate training and authorization.
