Original job description

About Rivian Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract. As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations. Role Summary This role supports feature integration on our in-house silicon and Large Driver Model within Automated Drive. Partnering closely with the team's integration leads to scale test execution, branch management, and tooling as new programs come online. Responsibilities Support integration and branch management across RAP and LDM programs, maintaining strong git/branching discipline consistent with team standards. Execute tests across RAP/LDM workstreams and help build tooling to increase team-wide test efficiency. Help stand up integration and test infrastructure for new programs as they come online. Serve as a secondary point of ownership for RAP/LDM integration topics, reducing single-point-of-failure risk on the team. Identify, document, and highlight cross-functional gaps and dependencies - proactively work toward solutions that resolve integration issues and ensure vehicle functionality. Support preliminary functional verification of software releases on test vehicle platforms, prior to hand-off to development and validation teams. Prototype tools and solutions to accelerate development and improve efficiency (e.g., Python scripts for parsing and analyzing vehicle data). Qualifications Direct, hands-on experience with software tracking systems and complex software versioning workflows, including coordinating changes across multiple parallel branches. Extensive CI/CD experience, including release coordination across concurrent development tracks. Experience in at least one of the following: vehicle controls/vehicle dynamics, perception systems, or ML model development and training. Proficiency with Git and software repository management tools, with a track record of managing complex branching structures. B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment, proactively collaborating cross-functionally to solve vehicle-level integration problems. Strong understanding of vehicle safety concepts and testing-related safety procedures. Flexibility to travel domestically/internationally to support vehicle-level integration and test activities. Clean driving record, with professional experience driving prototype test vehicles on test tracks.
