Original job description

About Rivian Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract. As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations. Role Summary As part of the Autonomy Systems Integration team, you will be fundamental in the successful development and deployment of Rivian's suite of ADAS/Autonomy features. You will be part of the Palo Alto-based System Integration team focused on developing, integrating and supporting the data collection fleet architecture, including HIL benches, in-house ECUs, sensor integration and loggerware. This role works cross-functionally with Rivian SW development teams based locally and throughout Rivian locations around the country. This role is expected to be onsite, with occasional travel required to meet development, testing and support needs. Responsibilities Maintain and improve Data Collection HIL benches (hardware and software), ensuring they are available for development and release testing; develop automated test cases using pytest and Linux tools. Support bring-up and integration of in-house high-compute ECUs for data collection, including OS/BSP integration, interface validation and HW/SW debug. Support initial integration of new ADAS sensors (Lidar, Radar, Camera) onto data collection platforms, including network configuration, time-sync validation and data-quality verification. Support development, maintenance and validation of loggerware tools and OS, including logging hardware bring-up and bug fixes. Support the triage of system hardware and software bugs on the bench and vehicle, reproducing issues, root-causing across electrical, firmware and software layers, and escalating based on impact to users and the program. Collaborate cross-functionally and support integration efforts for Data Logging architecture development. Document integration procedures, test results and bench configurations so work can be handed off to platform and operations teams. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Ability to work in office 5 days a week; you are a person who runs towards solving problems. Proficiency in Python, Bash, and C++ is essential for developing, testing, and deploying automated driving applications. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills to successfully manage multiple tasks efficiently. Proven track record of successful cross-functional collaboration with teams internal and external to the team. Strong knowledge of ADAS sensors (Lidar, Radar, and Camera) and their applications for data collection. Knowledge of network architecture (TCP/IP, UDP, PTP, hardware layer). Familiar with Git, Jira, and software development lifecycle tools. Hands-on experience with HIL or bench test environments, including test automation in Python/pytest. Experience with embedded Linux bring-up and debug (bootloaders, kernel/driver configuration, PCIe and Ethernet interfaces) is strongly preferred. Ability to read schematics and use lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, DMM) for HW/electrical debug is a plus. Pay Disclosure The salary range for this role is $162,800-$203,500 for San Francisco Bay Area based applicants. AI does not make hiring decisions: Qualified candidate applications are reviewed by a member of our team, and all decisions throughout the process are made by humans. Participation in AI profile matching is entirely voluntary. If you prefer that your profile not be used in this process, you can opt out at any time. Opting out means your profile will be excluded from automated matching and will not be surfaced for additional roles through this system.
