Job Description:

Design and build complex systems spanning multiple domains that bring new access features, improved functionality, and better performance to how users interact with our vehicles. Shape the hardware and software systems architecture for upcoming generations of vehicles. Take ideas through stages of concept, design, execution, deployment and hardening in a production environment. Work closely with other development and cross-functional team members in software such as Charging, Body Controls, Infotainment, VUX teams and EE/Hardware teams not only in vehicle access but other cross functional initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience in any occupation as firmware engineer, software engineer, or related. Must have experience working with the following: Programming embedded firmware in C and C++ for Real-Time Operating Systems and Embedded Linux systems with strict memory and power requirements; working with ARM Cortex-M class microcontrollers and multi-threaded/multi-core systems; debugging hardware-software interactions using laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers; performing board and sensor hardware bring-up, firmware integration and power profiling/optimization for new product prototypes and production-level hardware; working with communication interfaces I2C, SPI, UART and Ethernet for sensor and peripheral integration; working in wireless connectivity environments utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi for data synchronization; designing and converting sensor fusion algorithms and Machine Learning models from Python to highly performant C code for real-time on device execution; and building platform tooling and Python scripts for testing, simulation, algorithm validation, factory builds and mass-manufacturing processes.

Payments are discretionary and not guaranteed; actual amounts depend on company results and the terms of the plan in effect, and require active employment at the time of payout. This role is also eligible for equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), subject to board approval and the terms of our equity incentive plans, including applicable vesting requirements.
