Job Purpose Yes Develop and execute the enterprise procurement strategy to support the organization's operational, financial, and growth objectives. Lead strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract management, procurement governance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize total cost of ownership, improve supplier performance, strengthen supply continuity, and drive sustainable value creation. Manage significant company spend, develop procurement capabilities, and ensure the procurement function delivers measurable business results. Essential Functions
- Procurement Strategy & Leadership o Develop and execute a multi-year procurement strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and growth plans o Establish procurement priorities, sourcing strategies, and operating plans that drive value across the organization o Lead procurement initiatives that improve cost competitiveness, service levels, quality, and risk management o Drive procurement excellence through continuous improvement, process standardization, and implementation of best practices o Provide strategic guidance to business leaders regarding market conditions, supplier capabilities, and sourcing opportunities
- Financial Performance & Value Creation o Manage and optimize a significant portfolio of organizational spend through strategic sourcing and supplier management initiatives o Deliver sustainable annual savings, cost avoidance, and productivity improvements that contribute to company profitability o Identify opportunities to improve total cost of ownership while maintaining quality, service, and operational requirements o Partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, savings validation, and financial planning activities o Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of value creation opportunities
- Supplier Relationship Management o Develop and execute supplier relationship management strategies for key suppliers and service providers o Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions to secure favorable terms and mitigate business risk o Establish supplier performance metrics and governance processes to drive accountability and continuous improvement o Conduct executive business reviews with strategic suppliers to ensure alignment with organizational objectives o Serve as executive sponsor for critical supplier relationships
- Risk Management & Governance o Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, controls, and governance frameworks o Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements o Lead supplier risk management efforts, including business continuity planning and supplier performance monitoring o Partner with Legal, Finance, Operations, Quality, and other stakeholders to manage procurement related risks o Ensure procurement practices promote transparency, accountability, and sound business decision making
- Executive & Cross-Functional Partnership o Partner with executive and functional leadership to align procurement priorities with business needs o Build strong relationships across Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Information Technology o Lead cross-functional teams in support of strategic sourcing and business initiatives o Influence decision-making through fact-based analysis, market intelligence, and procurement expertise o Present procurement strategies, business cases, and performance results to senior leadership
- Team Leadership & Capability Development o Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing procurement team o Establish clear performance expectations, development plans, and accountability measures o Promote employee engagement, collaboration, and professional growth o Build procurement capabilities, tools, and processes that enhance organizational effectiveness o Drive succession planning and talent development initiatives within the procurement function
- Procurement Analytics & Continuous Improvement o Utilize analytics, data, and market intelligence to support strategic decision-making o Establish key performance indicators and performance reporting processes o Drive adoption and optimization of procurement systems, technology, and digital tools o Identify and implement opportunities to streamline procurement processes and improve overall efficiency o Foster a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
- Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, finance, operations, or a related field; MBA or other advanced business degree preferred
- Professional certification such as CPSM, CPM, CPSD, or equivalent preferred
- 12+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or related business experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience with responsibility for procurement strategy and organizational results
- Experience within food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or industrial manufacturing environments preferred
- Experience with ERP systems, procurement technologies, and spend analytics platforms preferred
- Demonstrated success leading complex negotiations, supplier management programs, and strategic sourcing initiatives
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and manage cross-functional business relationships
- Track record of delivering significant financial savings, productivity improvements, and business value
