Description

Position at Portland Trail Blazers

Become a part of the team behind the team.

As employees of the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter, we do more than basketball. We are blazing trails toward winning championships on and off the court.

We are pioneers and innovators. We look for people who push boundaries, who dream, who are committed to inclusivity – who want to contribute to Rip City!

As our Inside Sales Manager, you will lead and develop a team of Inside Sales Account Managers with a primary focus on driving new membership revenue and building a sustainable sales pipeline. You will establish a strong sales culture rooted in attitude, effort, execution and results, while ensuring your team has the tools, coaching and support they need to succeed.

This is an opportunity to do more than lead a sales team. You’ll help shape the next generation of sales professionals in sports and entertainment by creating an environment where emerging talent can learn, grow and develop the skills to tip off their career in sales. You’ll establish and reinforce a consistent sales process and operating rhythm, guiding your team through prospecting, pipeline development, appointments, sales presentations, and closing. You’ll also recruit and develop sales talent, identify opportunities to improve sales strategies and processes, and partner with sales leadership and cross-functional teams to maximize revenue opportunities.

Our ideal candidate is a proven sales professional who knows how to drive results and is passionate about helping others succeed. You have a strong understanding of the sales process, from prospecting and pipeline development through closing sales. More importantly, you know how to teach that process and help others achieve results.

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, leads with accountability, and isn’t afraid to have difficult conversations that help people grow. You’re adaptable and resourceful, able to take initiative and independently prioritize what needs to get done. You thrive on seeing others succeed and are energized by the opportunity to develop the next generation of sales professionals. If this sounds like you, apply today!

DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Inside Sales team to consistently achieve individual and team revenue goals.
  • Establish and manage the team’s daily operating rhythm, including prospecting, pipeline development, appointments, sales presentations, follow-up, and closing activities.
  • Monitor sales performance and pipeline health, provide ongoing feedback and coaching, and hold team members accountable to established revenue and performance expectations.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and develop sales talent while fostering a positive, competitive, and high-accountability team culture.
  • Partner with senior sales leadership and cross-functional teams to develop sales strategies, improve processes, maximize revenue opportunities, and advance broader organizational priorities.

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • A proven track record of achieving individual sales and revenue goals.
  • A strong understanding of the sales activities that drive consistent results, including prospecting, pipeline management, relationship-building, and closing.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach an effective sales process, develop talent, and help others achieve their goals.
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to establish clear expectations and hold yourself and others accountable for results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and with external clients.
  • The confidence and ability to deliver direct feedback and navigate difficult conversations to address performance challenges, reinforce expectations, and support individual development.
  • An adaptable and solutions-oriented approach, with the ability to evaluate performance, adjust strategies, and find opportunities to improve sales results.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to independently prioritize competing responsibilities and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • The ability to analyze sales performance and pipeline data, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate insights into actionable strategies that drive team and organizational results.

WE’D BE THRILLED IF YOU ALSO HAVE:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Archtics ticketing systems.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, coaching, or developing sales representatives.
  • Experience leading or facilitating sales training and ongoing professional development.
  • Knowledge of what a high-performing Inside Sales program looks like in sports and entertainment.
