Reports to: Department Supervisor Direct Reports: No Location: New Albany MS Employment Type: Full Time (Non Exempt) Schedule: Monday-Thursday 5:30AM-4:00PM with OT as required on Friday Main Purpose of Job
Does gas or arc welding and operates all spot-welding equipment.
Examples of Duties:
- Has a general knowledge of all assembly and welding done in the department.
- May be required to do more difficult types of welding.
- Must be able to perform various types of welding such as gas, arc, and spot welding on stainless, aluminum, steel, and coated steel.
- Finishes all metals.
- Performs soldering when required.
- May be required to work in other areas.
- May be required to set up and adjust rocker arm and pinch gun spot welders to sub assemble or assemble shells or liners.
- Assists the Group Leader in training new personnel in the safe efficient performance of their duties as required.
- Reads and interprets shop assembly drawings.
- Detects defects and reports them to the Group Leader or Supervisor.
- Complies with all company policy and safety regulations.
- Uses hand and power tools.
- Accurately reads a metal measuring tape and square.
- Accurately records job time on time tickets.
- Responsible for housekeeping around his/her general area.
- Complies with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Works elsewhere as required.

Maintains a clean, safe, organized work area. Reports to Supervisor any unsafe equipment or conditions that exist.
