Software Engineer II

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a skilled Software Engineer II to join our growing team!

Join the GATEKEEPER team, working closely with developers, systems engineers, QA, and DevOps to design, develop, integrate, and maintain the GATEKEEPER product across the full software development lifecycle. You will build enterprise software with Java/Spring Boot, Python, PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases, and modern CI/CD practices; support product installations and deployments for DoD customers; take part in code reviews; and maintain technical documentation such as architecture diagrams, process flows, deployment procedures, and training materials.

Qualifications:

• Five (5) years of software engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field
• An additional four (4) years of software engineering experience may be substituted for the degree, for a total of nine (9) years

Desired Skills:

• Must be able to work in a collaborative environment, with minimal supervision
• Strong Java (Spring Boot), Python, and scripting skills
• Competence with RDBMS (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
• Database optimization skills
• Collaborate closely with the test team, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements
• Experience working in a Docker environment (packaging, development, and orchestration)
• Some experience with AI concepts and tools, or using LLMs for code assistance
• Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue
